Hello Boat Crew From All Over!! Who wants to make this the BEST weekend for workouts ever?! Let’s challenge each other to perform at our Best!! I personally need motivation!!! What do you need? – Dianne

    • Hi Dianne – great that you recognise your limiter (not feeling motivated) – best thing to do is start working out – doesn’t have to be perfect – something is better than nothing – start small – I am doing the 7-minute workout amongst other things and am building on that. It might be only 7 minutes (+~2Km run before and ~2km run after) yet before…[Read more]

      • Thanks Derek – I like reading posts like yours – it helps to see what others are doing. The weather is getting warmer so that is also a good motivator for me =)
        Thanks so much!!

    • Hi Dianne, I am not having any trouble with doing the workouts at the moment, but I know that I usually am very enthusiastic at first then it slowly goes back. So hearing what others are doing keeps me motivated to keep it up too. So this is what I need to keep me motivated. I have been looking in the boat crews but there is not a lot of…[Read more]

    • I’m up for a challenge Dianne. I think it’s good to get out of comfort zone – push myself further than I would if kept to my own devices. Have you anything in mind?

    • I am up for a challenge too! Let me know what you guys are thinking, though my weekend has already started, it is Saturday arvo here. I have visitors coming but that should not be a problem.

      • Ok guys – I think the weekend is half over and I didn’t do a challenge – but no worries – I can start fresh tomorrow. We can always give ourselves a 1000 second chances. Have any of you ever done a “Murph” – where you run a mile – then do 100 each of pushups, jumping jacks or mountain crawlers, and burpees, then run another mile. Who would be up…[Read more]

        • Hi Dianne, Murph wow, when you say challenge you mean it! I can give it a go but not until the weekend though. I will let you know how I go and post my time (will take a while as running is not my strong suit, I am working on getting my fitness back and have not done CrossFit much since my brother shut his gym, mostly doing the Kokoro workouts at…[Read more]

        • Hi Dianne – The “Murph” sounds awesome and quite a challenge – will join you once I reach a base level of fitness at which my body can sustain the work and recover well. All the best with it.

For anyone also doing Kokoro Yoga, I just did the new class – Concentration Breath. Wow, My head is so clear and I was able to concentrate during the practice a lot more than I have in any of the others. Highly recommended.

OK Crew, I posted the following in another boat crew I’m with. I received 1 good response. What say you about my dilemma? Here it is: “I need some serious feedback. With respect to your purpose and the F.I.T.S module. How do you know if you’re trying to be someone you’re not, a square peg in a round hole so to speak, or, you’ve just been condi…[Read more]

    • Throwing in the towel is not an option. But give yourself a time out with respect to your purpose. There are so many other purposeful goals: be fitter, more mindful, mentally strong, more flexible, peaceful. All of which, while pursuing, will cascade into every other aspect of your life making you a better person for self and those around you. I…[Read more]

      • apdoherty: Thank you so much for your reply. My hope is to take in all the suggestions given and see what will work for me. Thanks again.

    • Rick – I’m sorry to just now be seeing your post. I would say never ever give up!!! I am not sure what is in your background or personality makeup that makes you feel you are not a ‘people person’. Try to dig deep to come up with that answer. The answers are always inside of us. Is it Fear? Did something happen long ago that caused you to ‘lock…[Read more]

    • Hi Rick – “Do I just throw in the towel and quit trying or is there something in this program that can help me?” – The fact that you are asking this of yourself and the Crew is a GOOD THING – it means you are getting uncomfortable and at various cognitive levels moving towards making sense of it all. APD and D have given great answers and a good…[Read more]

  • Welcome to all the new crew over last week or so. More the merrier and provides lots of opportunities to support each other. I hope everyone’s practice is going well and your are having some fun with it.

Interested to hear how the dirt dive your day goes for everyone? I was really struggling with this at first. I am experimenting with dirt diving my morning wake up the night before. Then in my morning routine I only do the start of the morning, then around morning tea do till lunch etc. I found that trying to do the whole day in the morning…[Read more]

    • Hi Carol, I am Nick and I am from Australia. In Lesson 2 but still working on getting my morning routine right. How is it all going for you?

      • I’m right where you are Nick. About to start Lesson 2 but still focused on getting morning routine right too! I’ve been travelling a lot which has made it challenging to get a solid routine going. However am not going anywhere for the next six months so really wanting to put some serious work into Lesson 2. Glad to know you’re out there!

    • Hi, Welcome. I am from Australia and starting Lesson 2 as well, though I am still working on my morning routine and getting that right for me.

      • Thank you, Nick. Yes. I find it difficult to get earlier but am working on it. I also started off by having to in my routine. I’ve paired it down and hope to add over time.

    • Welcome!! What is your name? Please tell us where you’re from and if you have some goals we can encourage you with =)

Just an update onhow I am going. I missed my morning routine this morning and did not do it properly yesterday and I noticed today I seem to be all over the place and nothing is getting done! Anyone else experienced this?

    • Hey Nick, yep – life gets in the way and you are not alone on this one. Fact is you did something and that is better than nothing – suggest you take that as a win.

Forming good habits takes time to master just like any skill, plenty of neural hacks to help you…so keep going.
